I’m Kevin Ramirez, a Los Angeles-based editorial and event photographer with a documentary approach to every shoot.

It started with disposable cameras at summer camp. My parents would send me off for the week with a camera in hand, and getting those photos developed at the end, reliving every moment through the images, was the best part. That feeling never left me. Through high school, I was the one documenting show choir, family gatherings, vacations, and friend hangouts. Not because anyone asked me to, but because I loved having something to look back on.

The work got more serious when I spent time in political advance, working behind the scenes at major events and witnessing history up close. Watching White House and campaign photographers work, I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Events. Politics. Photography. The candid moments, the backstage access, the images that give people a window into something they weren’t in the room for.

That’s what led me to start Kevin Ramirez Photo. I show up to every event ready to document it honestly. Clean images, real emotions, real moments. When I hand someone a photo that takes them right back to that day, that’s everything. If you get to do work you’re passionate about, it doesn’t feel like work at all.
